Our European rally!
Camping Lot - in the Dordogne near Sarlat, Cahors & Rocamadour

For our European rally this year, we’re going to a C’est si Bon site Camping Moulin du Bel Air at St. Germain du Bel Air for 14 nights starting Sunday 4th June 2023. The site is about 40 minutes south of Sarlat-la-Caneda in the Dordogne and promises to be a really enjoyable 14 day stay. The site is 7 hours from Caen or about 8 hours from Calais, so easily reached with an overnight stop and is in a really beautiful (and very warm!) part of France.
We’ve already got 9 confirmed members coming and we’re aiming for at least 15 vans – so why not join us? BUT BOOK SOON!
The site:
· Is laid out on the banks of the River Ceou, built around an 18th Century mill.
· It’s a small site with 68 grass touring pitches with 16A power
· It’s got an outdoor swimming-pool, has bicycle hire, a cosy indoor lounge, and an outdoor terrace/restaurant.
· There is a small fishing lake where you can stroll past it, up to the local village.
Cathy & I are hosting this rally, along with co-hosts Keith & Jenny Nicholls. We’re planning a few excursions (at extra cost) to local historical and beautiful towns of Rocamadour, Cahors & Saint-Circ-Lapopie (said to be the “most beautiful village in France”). TO ENABLE ALAN ROGERS TO SECURE THE BEST DEAL ON THE EXCURSIONS your need to book your place FOR THESE by 15th April. If we don’t have enough for the excursions we’ll have to “go it alone”, which probably will not be the best deal.
Of course, there’ll be a “Welcome” reception at the site as well as a Farewell meal (extra cost). We’re also quite sure we’ll have a free Boules tournament too! Plus, you’ll get lots of free time to soak up the French sunshine!
Come & join us by booking directly with Alan Rogers Rallies website (click here) or by calling them on 01580 214070. Your contract will be with Alan Rogers Travel Limited, who are part of the Caravan & Motorhome Club and are fully ABTA bonded, so you can book with confidence.
Alan Rogers will give you an individualised quotation for travel, depending on the ferry option you choose (or you can book your own ferry). Typical costs for 14 days including Dover/Calais ferries is around £600 in total, so it’s very good value and competitive with Caravan & Motorhome Club rates! (The planned excursions are extra cost)
Look forward to seeing you! Please don’t hesitate to call us to discuss anything about this exciting rally!

Driving in France
Since 2017 you need a “Crit’Air” certificate for your car, if you drive in Low Emission Zones (LEZs). They’re easily obtained and cost only EUR 4.60. Like the UK, most major French cities now have LEZs

Site description & planned programme
In the heart of the Lot, the campsite, built around its 18th century water mill, welcomes you in a bucolic, relaxing and environment-friendly setting. You will find spacious and tree-lined 71 pitches for caravans, tents or motorhomes.
In addition to the pure daily “Bel-Air”, you will have at your disposal a heated swimming pool, La Brasserie du Moulin in a “guinguette” style, for cool evenings, an indoor bar with a flea market spirit: Le Broc du Céou, a bowling alley or a play area for children.
The site is in the Lot, a stone’s throw from the majestic Lot and Dordogne valleys, at the gates of the Périgord Noir and surrounded by gems such as Sarlat, Rocamadour or Saint Cirq Lapopie
In conjunction with the site, we plan a number of excursions. You probably know that Cathy & Phil always organise active rallies but you can join in as much or as little as you wish!
Events & Excursions currently being planned include (at extra cost payable to the Hosts during the rally):
- Welcome drink at the site on arrival day.
- Guided tour of Rocamadour, a majestic medieval town nearby, including coach to/from and a full meal.
- A visit to Saint Cirq Lapopie, apparently the “most beautiful village in France”, taken by coach.
- A “farewell” meal on 16th or 17th June
- …and more!
